The Memorial Tournament
Roads reverse. Parking on your own block gets you towed. Guests call asking where to leave the car. Here is the whole thing in one place, plus a tool that tells you what is actually in force at the hour you are trying to get home.
August 2026
On August 17 the PGA Tour placed the Memorial in its new Championship Series, the top division of the schedule that takes effect in 2028. That puts the tournament in your backyard in the same bracket as the majors: fields of roughly 120 of the best players in the world, a 36-hole cut, no sponsor exemptions, and a purse floor of $20 million. Only about two dozen events made the list, and the Memorial was the seventh announced. The short version: the biggest week on your street just got bigger.
The part everybody asks about
Pick a day and drag to the hour. The roads through Muirfield do not close during tournament week, they go one way, and which ones depend entirely on what time it is. The trap is that they point outbound.
Muirfield Drive, Carnoustie, Glick Road and the O’Shaughnessy Bridge.

By local ordinance you cannot park on any Muirfield Village street during tournament week except where parking is marked. Cars left on the street in undesignated spots are towed at the owner’s expense. That includes the friend who parked in front of your house because you told them it was fine.
The other question you get every year
Both of these are free, and both run shuttles. Send the link instead of explaining it again.
Free. The closer of the two. Coming back out, use the back gate behind the Bogey Inn rather than fighting the main entrance.
Free, in Powell. Open Wednesday through Sunday from 7 AM until an hour after play ends. Shuttles run from the tournament’s main entrance gate back to the Zoo lot.
The deer were here before the golf was. They will be standing in the eighteenth fairway at six in the morning on Sunday like they pay dues, and there is nothing anybody has ever been able to do about it.
The thing nobody in Muirfield talks about out loud
Tournament week fills every hotel room between here and Columbus, and it brings in people who would rather have a kitchen and a driveway than a room downtown. Dublin homeowners rent to them. Homes close to the club have gone for thousands of dollars a night, and Rent Like A Champion is an official accommodations provider for the tournament, which tells you the demand is real and not a rumor.
Whether that is worth doing depends on things a listing site cannot tell you: how close you actually are to a gate, whether your street is one of the ones that reverses, how many people your house genuinely sleeps, and what a week of wear is worth to you.
I live here, I back up to the course, and I bought in Muirfield as an investment before I ever sold one here. If you want an honest read on what your house is worth during that week, or what it is worth the other fifty one, ask me.
I send this out once, the week before, with that year’s confirmed road rules, gate hours, and the parking situation. No newsletter, no drip, just the one that matters. Tell me where to send it.
